The other inductees into the Premier League Hall of Fame (a title that seems a nigh-on formality for Harry Kane) have all won trophies at the highest level. 15 of the 16 inductees have won a Premier League title and Steven Gerrard triumphed in a famous Champions League final in 2004/05. In my view, Harry Kane must secure himself a move to a footballing superpower and win some trophies to truly cement his legacy as a legendary player.
Unfortunately for Kane there are limited options of where he could move this summer, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid seeming the only viable alternatives to Tottenham. To start, moving to the red side of Manchester would be a poor choice for Kane. Whilst he may be able to become the focal point of Erik Ten Hag’s new-look side there is precisely zero guarantee of trophies were he to move there and that is the primary metric we are concerned with when gauging the quality of a move for Kane. Next, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid; both teams will be looking for centre forwards this summer after the departure of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern and the age of Madrid’s current number 9, Karim Benzema. Both teams have immediate trophy access domestically and in Europe and would easily give Kane the medals that he likely desires.
To directly answer the titular question, no. Harry Kane has one big move left in him at the age of 29 and must make it this summer to ensure that he has the major honours to give meaning to his hundreds of career goals and the undoubted world class talents he possesses.
