When it comes to food and drink, Ouseburn has much to offer. The Tyne Bar is one of the area’s longest-standing pubs and has a reputation for great beer, classic pub grub and an outdoor seating area that overlooks the Ouseburn River. If you go on a Tuesday between 7pm and 9pm, make sure to spend £7 at the bar to get the free food option available that week which can be anything from chicken tikka masala to shawarmas. However, if it’s a burger you’re after, make sure to get yourself down there on Thursday between 5pm and 9pm and grab a burger and a pint for £9.95.
Nearby, the Tanner’s Arms does an incredible Sunday roast, offering everything from beef and chicken to pork and gammon, with all the trimmings of course. Equally, if you just fancy a pint and a pub quiz, this is also a great spot to try.
