As a proper European (I’m Spanish), I consider myself a bit of a party animal. During my first year at uni, I gained a lot of knowledge regarding nightlife in Newcastle. Whether you want a chill night out or you want to go crazy, I’ve got the perfect guide.

You would think that on Mondays the night life is not good, but it’s the complete opposite. My ideal plan is going to Tropiloco to explore all of the different rooms. They offer music for everyone, from 90s throwbacks to white girl music. But be careful with their Jägerbombs, they could send you to heaven.

Tuesday night plans always lead to Groovy Disco Tech. If you enjoy techno, this is your night. But before going all crazy in the club, you could head to Holy Hobo to embarrass yourself doing karaoke with your mates. It’s all for the sh*ts and gigs, right?

Sports nights are one of the most exciting nights in Newcastle. You will see people from sports clubs dressed in the most unexpected costumes you’ll ever imagine, but you I can assure you; you’re going to have the time of your life. As an expert in going out with my sports club, the perfect combination is going to Tropicana to have some drinks before heading to Howlers!

After an exciting sports night, your body might give up, but on Thursdays, the party never stops. If you want a detox from all of the pop music, I recommend going to TheCut for some rock and indie anthems. With its iconic neon lightning, you will be able to get lost with the music that you love.

When lectures end on Friday, some people decide to just stay in and relax from a stressful week, but that is never an option for me. After trying different clubs, we always end up in CASA. This is the perfect start to a weekend full of wild moments. You can explore all of the 6 rooms full of decoration and live dancers where the play from Latin music to songs that take you back to your childhood.

Saturday night is THE night to go out. People from near Newcastle come to the city to enjoy the atmosphere. My perfect plan is going and pick up some trebs from Dog & Parrot to warm up before you head to TheCut (again, yes). TheCut during Saturdays is one of the best atmospheres during the night life in the toon. If you want to listen to a mix between indie and disco music, this is your place.

Finally, Sunday needs to be a takeout and chill day. But, if you’re still feeling up a cheeky pint in Spoons, go to the Five Swans. It never disappoints.

After exploring Newcastle’s nightlife, I understand why it’s considered one of the best in the UK.
