The collection includes 11 limited edition pieces, with prices starting at $48. A range of real gold and sterling silver rings and charms featuring stars, bows, hearts, and rabbits completes the idyllic collaboration, something that embodies Laufey’s own elegance.
Some fans took to her Instagram comment section to complain about the prices, with user @reynarose17 stating “These prices are insane babe,” whilst @sairinkss decided to object much more passively, saying “gorgeous!!! too bad im broke.” Many users protested these comments, instead acknowledging the excellent quality of the jewellery, made using the recycled materials and ethical labour that Catbird is known for, unlike the cheaper items sold by fast fashion brands. Whilst the collection is expensive, you can see and understand why.
Laufey is one of many celebrities Catbird has collaborated with, with singer Phoebe Bridgers and director Sofia Coppola also having collections with the brand. After the apparent success of Laufey’s designs – insinuated by items already selling out – I can’t wait to see the next celebrities Catbird collaborate with, so we can see more of their beautiful and ethically created pieces.
