The first thing that stands out this series is it is the same person doing all the trials, Dean McCullough. Now the question is are his big reactions and over-exaggerated emotions real or just for show? He is obviously playing the game to get more screentime which we can see just from him smuggling in the teabags and managing to tell everyone about it.
So is he giving the public what they want or being over-dramatic about how much he is suffering because he knows the more screen time he gets, the better he’ll do once he leaves. I mean, if this is the case who could blame him? However, I do hope that we get to see more of the other campmates as the show carries on because as of right now I’m not sure how many others I could name!
There is of course other campmates who are drawing people in with their big personalities such as Tulisa, Oti Mabuse, GK Barry and Melvin Odoom. As always the show also manages to touch on some sensitive topics and handles it very well such as when Barry opens up about losing his 14 year old daughter. The campmates were very encouraging and supportive, allowing him to open up and start a conversation about loss.
Finally, even though the show has been going for over twenty years, the show and it's trials are still as entertaining as ever and I for one cannot wait to see how the rest of the series progresses.
