“I want to try and play as much of the new record as possible,” explained Crook when asked about what fans can expect from the setlist. The Sherlocks have released four singles from the album so far, including ‘Death of Me’, an upbeat indie banger with an electric post-chorus perfect for live shows. Fans can also expect album tracks such as ‘Here Comes the Rain’ and ‘How Are You Feeling’, which Crook described as a track alike to The Libertines and Jamie T.
Crook described the lyricism of the new tracks as “close to home”, inspired by the band’s surroundings of South Yorkshire. The Sherlocks have the perfect discography for fans of classic indie with a true sense of togetherness and home pride displayed on stage and in the crowd during live shows.
The Sherlocks have fond memories of playing Newcastle, Crook describing their last experiences of the city to be "incredible". Crook thanked Newcastle fans for their support by providing "unreal" gigs and that the city has a special place in the band’s heart.
You can catch the Sherlocks live at NX on 2 May. Go down for an unforgettable night of indie music with real spirit and dedication to putting on a great show.
