Personally, one of my favourite things about female friendships is the emotional support and understanding that my female friends offer me. No matter their own personal circumstances or situation, they are always on hand to offer an ear to listen (or a shoulder to cry on!), if needed. Vulnerability is celebrated rather than criticised, with my female friends prioritising self-esteem and confidence, ultimately leading me to become the best version of myself. Being offered a chat, a café trip, or a long ‘gossipy’ walk when you’re feeling down can do the world of good, and all it takes for that is a friend.
Additionally, many of my female friendships are built on shared experiences and bonds. Despite being in my first year on university, many of my closest friends are from Sixth Form. Whilst distance can often be difficult in friendship, I believe if your friend is the right person, these bonds can be strengthened, bringing back nostalgia and fond memories

My favourite thing about my female friendships is that I have a friend crush on them all. I think that they are all so cool and interesting and each day I aspire to be more like them. I love my female friendships for the strong connection and vulnerability they have provided me, and just the strength they have within themselves. Supporting my friends through difficult times – as they do with me – reminds me of how resilient and caring they are and that I can get through hard moments too. I’m grateful for my female friendships that help me navigate this world with support and laughter

Through university, I have made some of strongest female friendships. For the past two years, I have lived in an all-women household with some of my closest female friends, it's in our house I see some of my favourite qualities of female friendships. Living together has allowed me to experience firsthand the unique and supportive dynamics that define female friendships. From swapping clothes and giving honest outfit advice to late-night haircuts and comforting each other during life’s tougher moments. Our house showcases the best parts of what it means to share a bond with strong, compassionate women. I'm so grateful to have met so many amazing women during my time at University and even more fortunate to have shared a house with them. The women in my life constantly remind me to be strong, kind and empathetic.
