Newcastle’s NE1 have launched their Lunch Club; on Tuesdays, £7.50-£10 set menus are available at over thirty iconic local restaurants. Hoping to support Newcastle’s hospitality industry, the initiative is an extension of the company's annual Restaurant Week, which boosts the local economy by over £2 million each year.

In a partnership post with High Life North, NE1's Lunch Club is described as "your sign to get eating, exploring and supporting local restaurants this autumn"; Lunch Club is the perfect pick-me-up as days get darker, when lunch is the best time to get out in the daylight.

NE1 are Newcastle’s Business Improvement District company, meaning they match funding to city centre improvements that benefit local businesses, visitors to the city, and Newcastle’s residents. They host activities, redevelopment projects, promote the city on social media, and organise initiatives - most recently the Lunch Club.

To access the offer, go to the dedicated webpage, choose a restaurant, and double check the Ts and Cs for each restaurants’ timings. With restaurants ranging from Grainger Market favourites to Fenwicks, Super Natural to Meat:Stack, and The Muddler to Acropolis, there is something for absolutely everyone. The initiative launched on the 2nd of September and is set to run for a full year, so there’s plenty of time to try your bucket list restaurants.

It’s an amazing way to try iconic Newcastle restaurants on a student budget; rather than getting their usual meal deal, students can now access a range of affordable hot meals close to campus, including at Zapatista, Firestone Artisan, and a variety of spots in Grainger Market: Snackwallah, Cubanos, and King Baby Bagels are just a few examples.
