It’s no exaggeration to say that Noah Kahan’s album ‘Stick Season’ was the soundtrack of last year for many people, especially with the release of the extended version ‘Stick Season (We’ll all be here forever)’ last June. It is also not an exaggeration to say that it has been one of the highest performing folk albums of the last few years.

Now, Kahan is back with another version of the album after a series of collaborations with established artists on the highest performing songs of the two previously released versions of the album: ‘Dial Drunk’ featuring Post Malone, ‘Call Your Mom’ featuring Lizzy McAlpine, ‘She Calls Me Back’ featuring Kacey Musgraves, ‘Northern Attitude’ featuring Hozier, ‘Everywhere, Everything’ featuring Gracie Abrams and ‘Homesick’ featuring Sam Fender. ‘Stick Season (Forever)’, the newest addition, features two new collaboration as well as a new song: ‘You’re gonna go far’ featuring Brandi Carlile, ‘Paul Revere’ featuring Gregory Alan Isakov, as well as the new single ‘Forever’.

The collaborations carry a lot of weight on the album as a whole, with the original album being almost 2 years old, Kahan’s audience was ready for some new material. The hype for the collaborations was also extremely high with teasers being released on social media to tease out who the newest guest artist would be.

It is safe to say that Kahan did not disappoint

It is safe to say that Kahan did not disappoint, with smooth vocals throughout the songs and the signature feel and lyrics that could only be written by a man who moved back in with his parents to write the album, Kahan manages to keep his original flare while sharing the stage, and his work, expertly. The new addition of ‘Forever’ also carries on the feel and easy listening of the original album while brining in a new sound, though still fitting organically and cohesively within the original mix.

Kahan continues to impress with his soulful lyrics, fun vocals and immersing music but, with two years since the album was released and it’s steady stream of additions, some fans are wondering what’s next for the emerging star.
