Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 hits cinemas this May, but with the director confirming this will be the third and final instalment, what can we expect from this bunch of music lovers?

As always with MCU trailers, we could be here for hours picking at every screenshot for Easter eggs of what’s to come (I recommend heading to YouTube for a full rundown). The biggest stand outs are, baby Rocket, Adam (introducing Will Poulter to the MCU) and the return of Gamora! After the Christmas special, and the reveal that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) are siblings, and hints towards a Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) origin story, it’s understandable that fans are nervously awaiting another tear jerking moment from this chaotic bunch.

It is no secret that director James Gunn is a genius when it comes to superhero films, with not only the first two Guardian’s films being successful, but also the second Suicide Squad putting faith back in the DC universe. His tried and tested mix of comedy, emotion and action supported by possibly the greatest soundtracks in action film history (bold statement), there’s high hopes for this next one Gunn!

With die-hard fans, like myself, not quite clicking with this new phase of the MCU, let’s hope that the return of everyone’s favourite dysfunctional family unit will provide some comfort and closure as the next hero blockbuster you won’t want to miss. Get ready to book your tickets for the 5th of May!
