The trailer does not shy away from introducing the new additions to the cast, all of whom fit perfectly with how I pictured them when reading the books - twins Tolya and Tamar, Sturmhond and Wylan van Eck. The appearance of the latter is intriguing as this season isn't adapting the story of Six of Crows yet - does this mean Wylan will be a major part of the Crows storyline or a cameo teasing a potential Six of Crows third season? With such a stacked selection of characters, one can only hope that the show won't feel too busy.

Whilst it wasn't completely clear from the trailer, showrunner Eric Heisserer has confirmed that this season will cover Siege and Storm and Ruin and Rising, the second and third books of the trilogy. I think this decision makes a lot of sense - the Six of Crows duology has proven to be more popular with fans over the Shadow and Bone trilogy.
Personally, I really enjoyed the first season and found that the addition of the Crows made it more entertaining, and gave it something fresh on top of adapting the source material. Fingers crossed this season is as enjoyable so it can get renewed.
