EA have teased that fans will be able to watch gameplay as early as 18 June, where more details regarding the game will be elucidated
That trailer has now arrived, but it didn't really show all that much. What can be gleaned is a two-sided story, in the style of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter titles of the late 90s - some of the most fondly remembered Star Wars licensed games. While the trailer showed in-engine footage, not much can be inferred regarding the game’s mechanics. However, another tweet from EA Star Wars mentions piloting the “fastest star fighters in the galaxy”, and the chase scene that the trailer opens on also connotes a mechanical focus on speed.
While there is nothing concrete regarding mechanics, the flashy graphics and focus on intense speed is definitely something to look out for later this week, as EA have teased that fans will be able to watch gameplay as early as 18 June, where more details regarding the game will be elucidated.
In short, if you’re a nostalgic Star Wars fan who loved X-Wing, TIE Fighter and the Rogue Squadron series, EA have made it a very exciting week.
