Have you ever watched an amazing show and wondered what it would be like to be there yourself? Here are a few suggestions of filming locations from your favourite shows to feed your curiosity:

Line of Duty – Belfast

Though the action of the hit BBC police drama takes place in an ambiguous Midlands town, many of its filming locations can be found in Belfast. The city is littered with both interior and exterior filming locations, but the most iconic may be the graffiti underpass, used regularly as a rendezvous point for undercover officers in the show, which is located right by the Albert Clock.

One Day – Edinburgh

The early episodes of the Netflix show based on David Nicholls’ best selling book of the same name are set in Edinburgh, where its main characters Emma and Dexter have just graduated university. The show features shots of many famous landmarks in the city, including the Old College of the university, Arthur’s Seat, and the Vennel Steps, where Dexter famously chases after Emma.

Gavin and Stacey – Barry

I don’t know about you, but with the upcoming Christmas Special, I have been rediscovering the joys of Gavin and Stacey. The much-loved sit-com is set between Wales and Essex, but Barry in Wales is the location of many iconic scenes. From the terrace where Gwen, Bryn and Doris live to Barry Island and Nessa’s slot arcade, what better way to celebrate (and mourn) the classic British sit-com than a trip to Barry?

Bridgerton – Bath

Though the popular Netflix show was filmed across the UK, many notable filming locations can be found in Bath. The famous Royal Crescent was used to film the scenes in Grosvenor Square, where both the Bridgertons and Featheringtons live. You can also visit the modiste on Abbey Green and Lady Danbury’s house at Holburne Museum.

Peaky Blinders – Castlefield and Northwich

Peaky Blinders is famously set in Small Heath, Birmingham. However, much of the filming for the most recent series took place in Castlefield near Manchester. Its canals, bridges and cobbled streets made it a perfect location for the dramatic action.

Another recognisable setting from the show is Tommy’s mansion, set at Arley Hall and Gardens in Northwich, Cheshire. Both the interior and exterior of the stately home are used to bring the show to life, particularly the library and dining room.
