Want to impress your housemates with a glamorous, inexpensive surprise at your next pres? Try Crisp & Wine Pairings!

Whether or not you have heard about the innovative crisp and wine pairings before, it does not sound surprising that it can total up to quite an expensive receipt. However, this article aims to show you how to do this whilst accommodating student-friendly budgets.

Starting with white wine, a more poignant and citrus choice compliments best with sharp and tangy flavours in a crisp. The Riesling is a great elementary wine due to its variety in production styles. A firm recommendation would be Barefoot California Riesling white wine, coming in at £7.50; the trustworthy logo makes it an affordable and well-known choice. As for crisp pairings, the best option is a salt and vinegar potato crisp. The Salt and Vinegar Twirls from Tesco, starting at just £1.00 are a sharp and highly acidic complementary pairing.

However, when it comes to the favourable flavour Sour Cream & Chive, choose a chardonnay white wine over a Riesling. To pair, the Sour Cream and Chive Pringles are an honourable mention that is a favourite amongst many students. From £5.75, the Blossom Hill white wine delivers an elegant, luscious flavour profile whilst still serving as an affordable option for all white wine lovers.

To create a culinary experience on the tongue with a crisp and wine pairing, this is best performed by rosé. For all the La Vielle Ferme rosé lovers, also known as chicken wine (£8.75 in Tesco), which is a dry and light-bodied wine, this is best paired with a seafood crisp. Without a doubt, the most notable seafood crisp is Walker’s Prawn Cocktail, which provides a powerful punch of flavour. The fruitiness of the rosé compliments the inherent sweetness of the prawn cocktail crisp.

On the other hand, for those who prefer a refreshing and juicy rosé like the Barefoot Pink Moscato (£6.50) that is paired best with its contrasting flavour, spice, and heat. The beloved Thai Sweet Chilli Walkers sensations balance the sweetness, creating a harmonious flavour profile on the tongue.

When it comes to reds, one less likely to be chosen by students due to its dark, bitter, mature nature, they are best complimented with smoky, BBQ flavours such as the Proper Chips lentil BBQ flavour.
