She not only equalled Take That's record of most nights played at a single venue, but as a solo artist, she broke the record set by Michael Jackson during his Bad Tour in 1988 for most sold-out nights played at Wembley Stadium.
Before Taylor took the stage for her 131st show, Paramore, who was touring with her this summer, thanked all of the "swifties" for making them part of one of the tours that would go down in history. Hayley Williams, lead singer for Paramore, was "incredibly proud of having the opportunity to accompany Taylor in her biggest tour yet".
After Paramore left the stage, the atmosphere changed at Wembley Stadium. Fans were getting excited as the famous clock started the countdown for the show's start. When Swift finally took the stage, she greeted the fans for the last time until October, when her final US and Canada leg of the tour will start.
After going through high school with her, as she performed Love Story and You Belong with Me, fans were viciously waiting to sing their hearts out during her 10-minute version of All Too Well. The fans were thunderous during this song, and Taylor didn't hesitate to tell them that it was a dream come true that they learned and sang the lyrics with that much enthusiasm.
After getting emotional with Enchanted, “swifties” patiently awaited the next era. There has been speculation about whether Wembley would be the venue selected to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version). But when she took the stage with the same bodysuit she had been performing with since the start of the tour, fans lost hope of that new rerecord being announced.
The sister set, Folklore and Evermore, and 1989 eras flew through, and Taylor started singing her new songs from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. After singing one of the most viral songs of the album, So High School, and doing her tribute to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, she surprised her fans with a new performance. The first chords of Florida started to play, but what shocked the fans was the sudden abruption of Florence, lead vocalist for the English indie band Florence & The Machine.
After this pleasant surprise, her acoustic set bore more surprises. When the famous producer and friend of the singer, Jack Antonoff, took the stage, fans knew they were in for a rollercoaster of emotions. They did a guitar mashup of two of her most famous songs, Death by A Thousand Cuts and Getaway Car, produced by Jack. They even recreated one of the critical moments of her documentary “Miss Americana” when they were writing the latter's bridge.
Taylor continued her acoustic set, playing So Long, London, a song from her latest album. The song was rumoured to be about the end of her relationship with Joe Alwyn, and fans didn’t think she would play it live.
After her iconic “Karma is a guy on the screen,” the show finished, and she surprised the fans with a music video to “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” in which we could see the whole process behind the tour.
Now, we have to wait until October to see what surprises she has during her shows in Miami. Is she finally going to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) and the release of her vault tracks?
