In a recent update, Valve added a bunch of new community maps to its roster in Counter-Strike 2, one of which was named Transit. Transit was removed promptly, only two days after release. Stated by Valve as a possible copyright infringement, Transit contained Easter eggs nodding to the 2022 Annapurna Interactive game Stray and Disney's cartoon Phineas and Ferb's antagonist's lair, Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated.

Whilst these Easter eggs are not necessarily harmful and only risk copyright claims against Valve, there was an instance in which a poster within the map (when interacted with) saw a small cat run across the player's screen, and when accessing the files for the map, the title of the cat's file was replaced with a racial slur.

Thankfully, Valve removed this map quickly and, due to pressure from the community, map creator Rikuda explained via Discord that it was "just a joke that I forgot to rename". This was not the only offence within the map as players discovered references to the MMM, a corrupt Russian company who are responsible for one of the biggest investment frauds in Russian history, in the Skybox.

It was "just a joke I forgot to rename."

Rikuda went on to state that it was "harsh" of Valve to remove the map, instead of contacting them and their team to complete a series of hotfixes to remove the references and racial slurs. At the end of their statement on Discord, Rikuda concluded by saying, "This makes me think that it wasn't only that entity that was at fault; maybe it was the train, maybe something else."
