Just a short walk from Central Station on the historic Pink Lane, Prohibition Cabaret Bar is not only a sensational bar, but also a community. Musicians from backgrounds of blues, jazz, soul and so many more flock to Prohibition, as well as drag performers, actors and anyone with creative passions. It is a community driven venue that partakes in several schemes to give back to the North East. Collaborating with other local, like-minded businesses, it is even the main sponsor of the Newcastle Burlesque Festival.
While Prohibition boasts numerous brilliant and renowned artists, it is the inclusion and lifting up of Newcastle’s young musicians that really sets it apart from the rest. With a monthly Jazz Jam Sandwich run by Rivkala, Mollie Nature and Liam Oliver, budding talented musicians are given the opportunity to share and create art together. People of all backgrounds are made to feel included, inspiring senses of joy, peace and hope guaranteed to follow you for days once you leave the warmth of Prohibition Bar. In a world of diminishing small venues, Prohibition is a stage that gives back not only to the community, but is also a space for creatives and appreciators to connect and share messages of love, art and music.
