You’ll find everything from your classic Amaretto Sour and Espresso Martini to something a little different. With the Mirrorball Spritz and the Toffee Apple Sour, it gives you the perfect excuse to try something new and unique that you may not find elsewhere!

Equally, if you’re feeling indecisive and fancy a margarita to quench your thirst, Mother Mercy’s Twist of Fate offers the perfect solution, with a spin of the wheel deciding which flavour you’ll be sipping on. Inside, this bar has a fun yet classy feel, with plush velvet, chandeliers and vibrant lighting giving it a glamourous touch that makes it feel like more than just your average cocktail bar. The fun carries over to the drinks menu, with plenty of colourful options to pick from, including the Hot Mango Margarita and, my personal favourite, the Rhubarb and Custard Martini. It’s sweet, creamy and, for those with a sweet tooth like myself, is essentially a dessert and a cocktail rolled into one…what’s not to love?
Flight
If you and your girls fancy venturing out of the city centre and want a slightly higher-end option, head to Flight on Heaton Road. Open Tuesday to Sunday, its warm, stylish interior creates the kind of atmosphere where you pop in for one and somehow end up staying for the rest of the evening. As for the drinks, you’re spoilt for choice with over 28 cocktails on the menu and a particular focus on fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The menu changes regularly so you’ll never be short of something different to try, from a Heaton Mess to an Orchard Fizz. With cocktails like this to choose from, Flight is a fantastic choice for a slightly more sophisticated night, making it well worth the trip to Heaton.
