So what information do we have so far?
Fans and non-fans alike will have good reason to take a look at the new series. The South Korean animation studio based in Seoul, Studio Mir, will be working on the series. If their name or animation seem familiar it’s because they worked on Legend of Korra, and Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defenders.
Troy Baker will be an especially exciting voice to hear, as he has worked in video game roles such as Joel from The Last of Us.
The series also boasts writers such as Amy Chu, Ashley Halloran, Steven Melching, and Ashley Edward Miller who wrote for Thor, and X-Men: First Class. Alongside them are big name voice actors in the industry such as Yuri Lowenthal, Troy Baker, and Kari Wahlgren. Troy Baker will be an especially exciting voice to hear as he has worked in video game roles such as Joel from The Last of Us. Valve and Netflix are clearly intent on taking this series seriously with these notorious names within the industry.
There are sure to be some fans who are still sceptical on how Netflix will interpret DOTA 2’s story and translate it onto our streaming systems, and we will all be able to quell our curiosities when the series launches on Netflix on the 25th of March.
