How can we have it all?

Working while at university and trying to keep up with your social interests can feel very overwhelming. As students, we want to try and work during our studies to have some extra money, pay bills, or many different reasons, but we need to learn to always have some work-life balance.

The first thing I recommend is to try and find a job that is flexible and that you can move around your course. At the end of the day, university is why you are here, and it should be a priority. Fit your work in a schedule that works for you and don't overdo it.

...make sure to adapt it to your needs and no one else's.

International students have a 20-hour week maximum with their visa as a way of making sure that university comes before work. 20 or less hours per week are supposed to give you enough time to work and still have time to do university work and the things that you love, but this is different for every person. Knowing this, you could try setting up a maximum of hours that you want to work per week; remember, this will be different for every person, so make sure to adapt it to your needs and no one else's.

We are all human, and therefore we all need a rest...

I believe that another essential part of achieving a work-life balance is to make sure to do the things that make you happy in your free time. We are all human, and therefore we all need a rest from all the work we have to complete on a weekly basis, so make sure that part of your week is also to enjoy, rest, and have fun!  Working while following a university lifestyle can be hard, but it can become a lot easier if we learn to adapt it to our personal needs.
