It’s officially spring! A sacred offering from the wilderness or just the natural cycle of life? As the snow melts following the destruction of their cabin home, the girls have come together to form an emergency commune, complete with wooden huts, duck farms and psychedelic experiments.
Shauna finds herself hostile towards the other girls, with the trauma of the previous seasons still lingering upon her. Unfortunately for Mari, she seems to be the victim of Shauna’s wrath, as she is sentenced to house arrest and fleetingly finds herself in Coach Ben’s food trap. Meanwhile, Natalie navigates her new role as camp leader, and Lottie assists Travis in connecting with the wilderness through her spiritual methods.
Luckily, in the present day, we have already been blessed with some wholesome Taissa and Van moments. However, tides are expected to turn as they become the unexpected culprits of a waiter's death. As for adult Misty, we see a less calculated side to her as she struggles to deal with the death of Natalie and develops an alcohol problem to cope. Callie grows eager to unravel the dark truth behind her mother's blood-bound secrets and creates a bond with Lottie as she crashes at the Sadecki household after her release from the psychiatric ward.
The ending of episode two left us with a surprising new discovery, revealing a passionate kiss between teen Shauna and Mellisa, alluding to her return in the adult timeline. In just the first two episodes, an entire world of new theories has opened up, and there are so many questions still left unanswered.
Is the pomegranate theory true? Is Mari ‘pit girl’? Which character is Hilary Swank playing?
Overall, the new season has kicked off with a strong start, delving deeper into the characters' vulnerability, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the show has to offer!
