Is it possible to get the most out of your tuition?

Wondering how to get the most out of your tuition?

Higher Education is expensive. Annual fees at Newcastle University start north of £9,000 and can creep up to £25,000 for international students. And to make matters worse, you have to spend that at least thrice to get the certificate.

I'm sure this doesn't come as news to you though, this is the rock and roll lifestyle you chose.
It's alright, if you plug your laptop in at the library, that's 3p saved per hour; that's 30p per assignment, £1.50 in the bank for the dissertation. You'll probably be comfortably sitting at the £3 mark by the end of the year - a pretty sizeable fortune.

"Don't shoot the messenger though, this is something they told you in induction week."

I'm sure everybody reading online is also eager to mention in the comment section that each student receives a minimum of £37 printing credit, or that the King's Gate building offers free branded pens, or that no one would notice if the mango chutney from Wetherspoons went missing, but, all of this advice is given in vain, as you will never be able to financially compensate for the tuition price tag. Don't shoot the messenger though, this is something they told you in induction week.

Instead, the value of your degree is found in the transferal of wisdom, taking part in university endorsed societies, and most importantly in the friendships you make along the way.

"So there you go, there is an incentive to attend your lectures after all."

So there you go, there is an incentive to attend your lectures after all. You might as well check out the societies whilst you're here then, there's something for everybody and they're always willing to take you in at any time of the year. Maybe have a look round the city as well, it wasn't Time Out's 142nd best city in the world for no reason. The student union also host several partially subsidised activities a day. So what are you still doing here, the true crime guided tour starts any time now - but before you go, you might want to take another few copies of The Courier, I heard the resale value's shooting up, every penny matters.
