Poohead is a family favourite. Many an evening has been spent at the local using this glorious game to decide who gets the next round. It’s a fantastic game that’s perfect for families. So, I thought I’d share it in the Courier so that our readers can enjoy it over this holiday period.
Setup and rules:
Players each start with three cards face-down, three cards on top of them, face-up, and three in their hand. Get rid of all your cards ASAP by placing them in the central pile. The player left holding their cards is the poohead or the sh-ed (use your imagination). You can only use cards that are matching or higher than the one below them. Can’t play? Pick up all the cards in the pile. There are some rules about ‘special cards’, but these are different with every person I’ve played with, so these are up to you!
Best for:
Poohead works best in groups of three and over, so it’s a great family game. Especially, as like with all card games, it helps to know your opponents well. Since only one player loses, my family often use a quick game to decide who is doing the dreaded post-Christmas roast washing up.
I am very happy with this game. It is certainly one that consumes time and brings enjoyment to all players. Highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys card games and a challenge!
